I've considered the opposite overviews whining that the embodyd strainer isn't superb enough to capture all particles in leftover frying oil. Well, if Norpro had made the strainer tremendousr, I'm certain we might look people complaining that the strainer used to be too high-quality! This is a neatly-made funnel; I've had mine for yrs. Unlike plastic funnels, which by no implys in level of fact feel easy after coping along grease and oil, this one cruises during the dishwasher w/o issues. I have applyd the strainer for oil, but it is on the base facet. However, I to find this funnel works great accompanying a Melitta #2 coffee filter, which I apply for my small coffeemaker. I don't like using cheesecloth as it can be a bother. I'd recommend going to a coffee filter as an alternative. Additionally, I can pour hot oil after frying at a temp that might damage a plastic funnel.
